BUSC Tryouts
Each spring, BUSC holds tryouts for the upcoming fall soccer season. These sessions are essential in determining player placements, helping us build balanced teams that develop every player and challenge each individual to reach their highest potential. There's a place for every player at BUSC, at every level of the game. Missed tryouts or just found us? We'd still love to hear from you. We regularly place committed players who join outside the tryout window.
How Tryouts Work
Tryouts run over two evening sessions. Players are asked to attend both so our coaching staff can get a complete picture before making placements.

Attend Both Sessions
Every age group tries out across two evenings. Coming to both gives our staff the fullest look at your game and where you fit best.
02
Get Evaluated By Our Staff
Our professional coaches evaluate technical ability, decision-making, and attitude in a supportive, competitive environment built to bring out your best.
03
Earn Your Placement

Our Team Pathways
BUSC fields teams across every level of the game, so there's a place for every player. Tryouts simply help place each player where they'll be challenged and supported best. Here's how the tiers stack up.
Every age group is built in tiers, from the top team down. Same club, same professional coaching, same crest. The tier just tells you which team and what level of competition. Here's the ladder, top to bottom.
Regional leagues like EDP & Acela + State Cups. Best for the most advanced players ready for the highest level.
Top of local & state leagues like ICSL & ROCK . Strong first-team players competing at a high level.
The second team, one step below the first, with pro coaching, league play & tournaments. Best for committed players building toward the first team.
The third team, developing toward the next level. Best for players stepping into travel soccer and growing fast.
The short version: a group's first team plays as Premier or Gold depending on the level it's ready for; Blue is the second team and Green is the third. Every tier gets the same professional coaching, and players move up as they develop.
Tryout FAQ
I missed tryouts. Can I still join?
Often, yes. We regularly place committed players who reach out after tryouts, depending on roster space and age group. The best first step is to fill out our contact form and a member of our staff will follow up with next steps.
Do I need to attend both sessions?
We ask all players to attend both sessions for their group whenever possible. Two evenings gives our coaching staff the most complete evaluation and leads to the fairest placements. If you have a conflict, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you.
What age groups try out?
Players from U8 through U18 try out. Younger groups (U8 through U10, and U11 for boys) go in the earlier session, and older groups go in the later session. Exact times are shared when the next tryout dates are announced.
What should I bring to tryouts?
Come ready to play: cleats, shin guards, a ball if you have one, and plenty of water. Arrive a few minutes early so you're warmed up and ready when your session begins.
How are players placed onto teams?
Our professional coaching staff evaluates each player across both sessions and places them onto the team where they'll be challenged and supported best, from our Premier and Gold competitive teams to our Blue and Green travel teams. Our goal is balanced teams that develop every player.
What if I'm brand new to BUSC?
New players are always welcome. Tryouts are open to everyone, and if you've found us outside the tryout window, just reach out through our contact form and we'll help you find the right fit.
